Problem with DL380 G3 and IBM-Drives
Hi
To replace a defektive HD i've bouaght a IBM-Drive Type ST373405LC.
This drive works in our IBM but not in our Proliant DL380 G3.
The server does not even find this drive.
Is ther a possibility to get it to work?
Where can I Get in a menu on this machine that allows me a lowlevelformat of this drive?
regards H.Braig

Re: Problem with DL380 G3 and IBM-Drives
i don't recommend to use an IBM instead of the org. HP Disks. Cause the Firmware is not HP confirm and so u might run into worse issues!
Further Drive monitoring won't work correctly and the HP Agent may send incorrect ErrorMsg.
At least u'll loose your SupportGuarantee until u built a supported environment!
Nobody will pay, if your Array crashes and your datas gone

There is no LLF utility. Erase utility from Smart Start CD only one, however I seen only Fujitsu or Quantum(Maxtor) HDD that can be detected, but you might run into other problems with performance or Read/Write Errors, timeouts, monitoring, disk size for mirroring ... etc.
