Problem with HP Storage Data Protector Software

One of our clients is Using HP Storage Data Protector software for Backup. They r using Compaq Proliant ML370 with MSL 600 series Tape Library (SCSI- Ultrium-2 drive). Problem is that Data Protector software doesn't identify which media is attached to it. It isn't showing any drive under Default Ultrium Drive. When u enter a new tape into Drive and try to format it, it doesn't work. Also, the most recent backups are not visible (can't find any logs). What I need to know is what happened to the last backup, is it viewable through Internal Database, through Catalogs or any other option. Why the Data Protector software is not showing logs for most recent backups. How would I restore all the backups taken till now if they r not viewble from DataProtector Manager.
