Re: Problem with ML350 G5 vs HDD p/n 507127-B21 vs Controller e200i
Hi,
Please give some server configuration, like how many hard drives were installed previously, is this a SFF or LFF server.
Do refer to the QuickSpecs which shows 507127-B21 as compatible drive but has a note which reads as "NOTE: Please note that SFF 2.5" (small form factor) drives can only be installed on tower or rack models with SFF chassis (models)."
This drive being SFF drive, I hope you are installing this on a ML350 G5 SFF server.
Regarding 1783-Slot0 DriveArray Controller Failure!, do check the following:
Remove Cache Module attached to the E200i and power ON the server.
If the error goes away, its likely that cache is causing the error.
If the error stays, its likely that controller or hard drive backplane or cables are causing the error.
Good Luck!
Thank You!

Re: Problem with ML350 G5 vs HDD p/n 507127-B21 vs Controller e200i
This problem is observed on any of the same ML350G5 controller e200i, checked on 6 servers.
For example:
p/n: 458242-421 (HP ML350T05 E5420 SAS SFF Array EU Svr)
Removing Cache module does not help. Raid Controller Firmware to the latest version also does not help.
With hard drives release until May 2013 e200i this controller works without problems, for example:
PN: 507127-B21
SPARE: 507284-001
HP Model: EG0300FBDBR
HP P/N: 597609-001
GPN: 507129-004
TYPE: UCTSSB300
FW: HPD6
DOM: 03/2012
--
These hard drives (HP Model: EG0300FCVBF and HP Model: EG0300FBVFL) also do not work on HP StorageWork MSA 70 as in ML350G5 controller e200i, but these hard drives work on the ML370 G5, ML370 G6 and above.
Firmware update hard disk HP Model: EG0300FBVFL from HPD6 to HPD9 did not help.
What else can I try to do?
