Problem with Redhat 9 in Proliant Dl-380 G3

I have succefully installed a Redhat 9 in one Proliant DL-380, but, I have problems sometime, the Operating System not responding nothing funtions that require network functions and I need hard restart the machine.

Any idea.....

I install also RH9 on the same machine but i have problems with tape. Can you access/use the tape on your machine?

Are you disabling DMA on the cd/dvd-rom drive?
ide=nodma should be on your LILO/Grub boot options, otherwise accessing the CD will lock the server.
