Problem with smartstart.

When i configureted the server with smartstart 4.80 it will hang when it copy files to the system partion. When it had copy some files it will hang and i can not press F10 to boot.

What's in the server as far as add-on cards? Make sure the system rom is dated 6/19/2000. If you've added cards, try taking them out. Put the system in the same configuration it came out of the box and reseat memory, processor and cards that came with it. Solved the problem! I had to remove the integrated Smart and everything is running now!

I had the same problem with Smart Start 4.90 that came in the DL380 server box.. But when I used my Smart Start 4.90 CD I received in my ASE posting everything worked.. Is their different versions of 4.90???

i had the same problem - it was the firmware for the cd rom drive
upgraded and all ok - known problem supported in a carepaq - search on cd-224e
