Problems with RAID5 on Smartarray 5i
Hello,
I have created a RAID5 (3x18 GB) on the embbedded RAID-controller 5i of a DL380-G2.
The controller remains in the status Initializing Parity; however there doesn't seem to be any activity on the disks. Performance is poor and some applications report excessive write errors. RAID0 or RAID1 on the same disks works fine.
The firmware version is 2.58. My guess is that there is a problem with this version.

Re: Problems with RAID5 on Smartarray 5i
Hi,
the firmware you have is latest, we can do the following this to validate the same.
1) Install ACU and ADU check for status of rebuilding of array. and setting related to read and write operation of array which is in acu only. adu is for array daignostics only.
2) use hdd identifier utility to validate the hdd you have.

3) Update the BIOS of the server.
For any clarification post back.
Regards,
Prashant S.
