Prolbems with ILO on DL380's
One of my customers on a remote site is having the following problem, everyone's stumped, can any of you shed any light on this?
"I have had a trawl around the Compaq net and they are saying nothing apart from firmware upgrades, but as the servers are new, they shouldn't need them.
One point to mention is that I can perform all the tasks on my XP/IE6 PC and they are on W2K/IE5. They apparently can gain access to other servers with the same spec as these ones.
Problems:
When trying to access Integrated Lights-Out I get the following error message:
You must enable HTTP 1.1 to view iLO web pages. Please do so by choosing Tools | Internet Options, selecting the Advanced tab, and placing a check mark in the Use HTTP 1.1 box, then click Refresh on the Internet Explorer Toolbar.
If you are communicating with iLO via a proxy server, you must also enable the use of HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections. Please do so by choosing Tools | Internet Options, selecting the Advanced tab, and placing a check mark in the Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections box, then click Refresh on the Internet Explorer Toolbar.
NOTE: If the proxy server is not configured to use HTTP 1.1, then you will not be able to communicate to iLO. Please contact the server's System Administrator for assistance.
I've checked my browser's settings and they are correct.
When trying to access Compaq System Management I get the following error:-
The system was installed without configuring the passwords for the Administrator, Operator, or User accounts. An administrator password is required to be set in order for Compaq web-enabled software to function correctly."
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Re: Prolbems with ILO on DL380's
You could probaly get round it by installing Insight manager 7 locally (I believe that gives the option to set all 3 passwords again)

Re: Prolbems with ILO on DL380's
1) iLO connectivity: is there a firewall in between the sites. You need ports 80+443 at a minimum to be opened.
2) You can set the Web Agent passwords during deployment of the Management Agent (via RDU/PSP - use SETUP.EXE).

Re: Prolbems with ILO on DL380's
Setting:
Proxy is used by clients to connect to internet.
Internal DNS is used to access ILO. DNS name is properly configured.
Browser is set to ignore proxy when host is *.internaldomain.net.
Start browser, enter DNS name to access. So far so good.
But rather than using the DNS name when the ILO software calls other functions, it uses the explicit IP address. Consequently the client browser tries to go partly via proxy and the communication fails.
It should be noted that som functions use the DNS name, others the IP address.
