yes. Pull them and re-boot.

While you have the server out...

Check for loose cables and loose components in the server. Make sure the processors and PPM's are seated. Make sure that any PCI cards you have are seated well.

Also, with the power on, do you see any Amber/red LED's on the system boards. Write down the board ID's next to them and post that here for me.

Let me know?
Enjoy!

Well there is no led lit up on the IO boarda nd there is one green int he processor cage section. by the way, when i reboot should I do so with smartstart cd or without anything.. also, just to remind you that my s6 is still on (and s3 was on from before)

I am not this slow when I am writing code in Java, I promise :-)

No... if you are not getting a response from the system, then something is drawing it down. This server worked at one time, so it is reasonable to assume that it will work again. My thoughts are that a processor is loose and needs a light push to re-seat it or that a cable attached to the power backplane board has come loose.

Don't worry... we will figure this out.

Either way, you are becoming a systems admin as you go... just think... when the server boots up and you get the O/S and applications loaded, you will be "The Man" and you can demand a raise! LOL
Enjoy!

No LED's at all... nada... Hmmm...

Does the Power Supply fan spin? Do any of the other fans spin?

If they do, we get to play mechanic!

I need you to pull the I/O cage out of the server and take a look at the power backplane board connections. here is what it looks like:
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/showphoto?partnumber=149046-001
Although in the server, it is upside down. Check all the cables leading to this board and make sure they are snug.

Let me know?

What speed processors are in this server? Do you have one or two processors?

How much RAM? How many DIMM's?
Enjoy!
