Proliant 1600r UPS shutdown issue.

I have a proliant 1600 running windows 2000. I am using a UPS 1500. When a site loses power the UPS shuts down the servers but will not power them off. I get to " it is now safe to shut off your computer " screen. Proliant 1600R is not ACPI complaint nor does it have NT APM / Legacy driver. Has anyone seen this, or have any ideas. If the site power is restored before the UPS battery runs out the servers never get rebooted.

Are you using the UPS manufacturer's shutdown software? What is it called?

In most cases there is a timer set that tells the UPS to switch itself off a few minutes after it has shut the server down - in my experience this can cause a problem similar to the one you describe and it can be corrected by reducing the timer setting.
