Proliant 3000 6/300 Motherboard
Hi, I recently received an old proliant 3000 6/300 server and I have the possibility to buy a proliant 3000 6/500 motherboard... My question is simple. Will I be able to put the 6/500 mb into my proliant server ? thx

The ProLiant 3000 System board for the 400MHz processor is the same for the 500MHz processor. See here:

The difference in M/B change for the 550Mhz:

And the 600MHz:

My point is : Is it possible to change the mb of my 6/300 with this one and have a full working system... I'd like to upgrade my old proliant and I just want to know if this motherboard could fit in the box ;-)

Yes... the motherboard will fit without a problem in the Compaq ProLiant 3000 Server.
Take a look at the Spare part Number Label on the lower edge of the board and check if they are the same.

If they are, all you need to swap is the Processors and VRM's. Then change the dip switch for the processor speed.
