Proliant 3000 hangs on shutdown but not on reboot

My server is as follows
Pl3000 P09 BIOS (Latest)
8 X 256 MB Compaq PC100
SA3200 Array controller
RILOE board
twin NC3123 NICS
Win 2000 ADV server SP 4
Support Paq 6.2 (I dislike 6.3 and 6.4)
CIM 7 shows no degradation
Survey utility
Riloe conf utility
No other apps or utilities
Windows will reboot fine but hangs on the "It is now ok to power down" screen

Any ideas anyone ??

Also is there anyway , even third party to make the RILOE I Virtual Power button work in this server ??

Thanks a bunch

I think you can do it by going to control panel - power options... check it out there must be a setting which you can mark to make the computer to switch off.

The Rilo 1 virtual button should work i guess. Did you try the extra cable which came with it. The one you connect between the powerswitch and the rilo board

Power options does not have any settings for this and I have tried setting APIC to Full-Table and Full-Table Mapped and as well tried changing HAL from MPS to Multi APIC , This gave me a lock up at the black and white boot up screen and yes I had a backup that was 3 hours old :)

OFF THE SUBJECT I RECENTLY ACQUIRED A 3000. I NEED TO KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT IT. DO U HAVE TO HAVE A VRM ON EACH OF THE PROCESSOR BOARDS, OR CAN YOUUSE JUST ONE PROCESSOR WITH NO VRM? IF 2 PROCESSORS DO THEY BOTH HAVE TO HAVE VRM'S? COMPAQ HASEN'T SAID EITHER WAY TO ME.

Every processor needs a vrm.
