ProLiant 5500 issues

I am redeploying an old ProLiant 5500 server. I build the server using the old SmartStart ver 5.4. After I built the server I noticed the network adapter was missing when I was on the console. In addition I could not shutdown the server from the console. I terminaled into the server and both items were working fine. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? The server is running Windows 2000 Server Standard Edition. Thanks.
