ProLiant 800 single PII 350 upgrade to dual PIII 600
SW1
1 off
2 on
3 on
4 on
When booting the server it gives the following error during POST:
Unsupported processor detected
System Halted!
Before I bought the new processors I did some research on the HP/Compaq website, and according to me they should be supported.
Or do I need a system board with a P14 ROM?

Re: ProLiant 800 single PII 350 upgrade to dual PIII 600
What do you mean by the SPS number, what format should it be?
I found the following on a label on the System/Processor Board (where the processors and DIMMs are):
313622 - 001 P138C0F25HDSLA 007918 - 101
007919 - 000 Assembled in Singapore REV 0F
And on another label:
*313663-001*
Thanks for your help,

Re: ProLiant 800 single PII 350 upgrade to dual PIII 600
With the 600MHz processor you have to use VRM part number 329267-001.
SW1
1 off
2 on
3 on
4 on
is correct for 600MHz.
SW2 should be off and off.

Re: ProLiant 800 single PII 350 upgrade to dual PIII 600
.
COMPAQ System BIOS - P18 (11/08/2000)

.
Unsupported Processor Speed Selected.
- System Halted!
.
I the meantime I got two PIII 500 MHz processors, and they work perfectly in this system. But I still want to upgrade to dual PIII 600 processors, so I ran the System Erase Utility. And used the SmartStart 5.50 CD to configure the system. But after again plugging in the 600 MHz processors, I still get the error message stated above. Help!
