ProLiant DL 160 G6 - unknown device
Windows 2008 Standard R2 64-bit
Hello,
after installing Windows 2008 Server, I still have left one "unknown device".
The location says "PCI standard ISA bridge", the hardware ID shown is ACPI\HPQ000B...
I also tried the suggestions in this thread:
https://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1376959
It seems there is no driver for Win2008R2 available atm!?
The drivers you mentioned above are not for R2. When trying to install them I get a "wrong OS" error message. Trying to install the drivers manually doesn't work either.
Please help...

Re: ProLiant DL 160 G6 - unknown device
thank you for your tip.
At HP I cannot find chipset drivers that work with our configuration... "wrong OS"...
I am trying to find chipset drivers at Intel directly, maybe this works!?
Thank you and if there is some other tip, any help would be very appreciated.

Re: ProLiant DL 160 G6 - unknown device
after many tries to get rid of that "unknown device" I am close to give up and just let it there (what I really don't want to)!
Trying to install "chipset drivers" and/or "HP management controller drivers" always end in this message (please also have a look into the attachment):
"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
HP ProLiant Management Controller Driver
Driver is not intended for this platform."
Any suggestions...?

Re: ProLiant DL 160 G6 - unknown device
JuanK in the other thread (that I meant it was closed already) gave me THE link to a working HP Management Controller Driver. Please have a look at that thread (it's the link in the starting entry of this thread), thank you.
... and please close this thread. Thanks for helping to everyone!
