I recently acquired a ProLiant DL360p Gen8 and I'm having trouble updating the BIOS. My current system is ESXi-7.0U3d-19482537-standard (VMware, Inc.). The BIOS version is P71, with a release date of Friday, December 14, 2012, 08:00:00 +0800.
I followed the instructions for standalone installation:
- Logged in as root.
- Placed the Smart Component (CP040026.zip) in a temporary directory.
- Unzipped the Smart Component.
- Ensured that the CP040026.vmexe file was executable.
- Executed the command: ./CP040026.vmexe
However, I encountered the following error:
[root@localhost:/tmp] ./CP040026.vmexe
OS Version found [7.0.3]
./_CP040026.scexe: ERROR: Version [7.0] not found in configuration file
./_CP040026.scexe: Invalid version detected
It seems that the Smart Component does not support ESXi 7.0.3. Could you please advise on how to successfully update the BIOS?
Thank you.

SolutionHi,
I hope you have followed the installation instructions given in the page.
IMPORTANT: This component requires that the CRU driver be loaded before the component can run.
Thank You!

@rabindra11sharm I tried using iLO, but I cannot open the web interface. It looks as shown in the picture, but I can connect via SSH.

Re: ProLiant DL360p Gen8 BIOS update issues
Dear kuukitora
This massage given because your system does not set with requaired versions. you have check with windows 7 machine or laptop. first you have to clear all browsing history, cookies, and SSL certificates then try to connect with lower version browsers. it may open iLO page.
Also you can upgrade firmwares from bootable disk or USB media. boot the server directly from it.
Thanks & Regards...
Rabindra
