Proliant DL380 - External DLT

I want to connect external HP StorageWorks Rackmount Kit(with 1x SDLT 110/220GB Tape drv) to Proliant DL380 G3. Can I Use external port of Smart Array 5i plus ?

Hello,
here is the answer to your question:

Smart Array 5i Plus Controller (compatible when used with ProLiant DL380 G2 only)

If this is what you have then yes you should have no problems.
