Proliant DL380 G - My Processor does not support Intel VT-x/EPT.
Came here to ask the experts. I a running an issue setting up nested ESXi inside ESXI server. My Processor does not support Intel VT-x/EPT. Is there anything I can do to tweak this, maybe with new drivers?
My server is running an Intel Xeon Processor E5540. HP Proliant DL380 G6 2x Xeon Quad-Core 2.53GHz
Bios settings
– Intel(R) Hyperthreading Options -> enabled
– Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology -> enabled
– Intel(R) VT-d -> enabled

Re: Proliant DL380 G - My Processor does not support Intel VT-x/EPT.
thanks my hardware doesn't meet the requirements below
If you wish to run nested ESXi or other hypervisors on ESXi 5.1 and run 32-bit nested virtual machines, you must meet the following hardware requirement:
- CPU supporting Intel VT-x or AMD-V
If you wish to run nested 64-bit virtual machines in your nested ESXi or other hypervisors, in addition to the requirement above, you must also meet the following hardware requirement:
- CPU supporting Intel EPT or AMD RVI
I have this
Bios settings
– Intel(R) Hyperthreading Options -> enabled
– Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology -> enabled
– Intel(R) VT-d -> enabled
