Hi,
We have installed windows 2003 x64 on the Proliant DL380 G5 server, however we are unable to identify the NIC card. We have tried all the NIC card drivers available on he HP site for this server, however none of them is getting installed because of hardware mismatch.
Kindly let us know what is the NIC card used in the proliant DL380 g5 box and also the link to download the driver. This is really very urgent for us. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rgds,
Krishna

Re: Proliant DL380 G5 Lan Driver
Hi,
Thanks for the response. However I require the driver for x64 Windows 2003 OS.
The link given is for x86. I tried to search, but I find the same drivers that I have tried already.
We(colt) the developer team are new to this server and I dont understand why do you need to update the firmware for the server. If it's not too much trouble, can you help me with the steps that needs to follow after a OS install.
The server has a new windows 2003 x64 OS, and thats it, and I require only the LAN driver to do our development work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Krishna

Re: Proliant DL380 G5 Lan Driver
OK, I found the x64 version of the same driver posted by ab_server here,
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121516&swItem=MTX-a21fdf15a18f4750b5ad60ddae&prodNameId=3288134&swEnvOID=1113&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=0
However, the install notes, talks about installing a Smart component, can somebody help me in,
a) Confirming that the link given above is
for Proliant DL380 G5 NIC card
b) What is a smart component?
Just need to get this LAN driver onto the server, any help would be great.
Thanks,
Krishna
