ProLiant DL380 G6 - won't see drives after failure
I am new to HP and have taken over a server recently. It has an 8 drive bays. They origianlly wanted to add drives to add space because they were out of room. Then, after adding a spare drive to the array/logical drive, drive 7 of box 1 failed. When we replaced the drive, it still reports Box1 : Bay 7 is bad or missing. I tried having them put drives in Bay's 5 or 6 of Box 1 and they aren't recognized. I don't get any error's from them in SSA.
Array A - Box 1 : Bay 1 and Bay 2 RAID 1
Array B - Box 1, Bays 3, 4, 8 and Box 2, Bays 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 RAID 5
We put a drive in Box 2 Bay 5 and it is currently unassigned. When I choose Array A, I can assign it. If I choose Array B, I don't get any choices to do anything.
The first spare drive, Box 2 : Bay 3, was assigned to Array B and is currently flashing the green icon and listed as the assigned spare for Box 1 : Bay 7.
We tried to replace the failed drive in Box 1 : Bay 7 and it still says it is bad or missing.
I am doing this remotely and I appreciate all help
Scott
