ProLiant DL585 G7 does not start up / compatibility with G580 G7?
We have an rather old, but previously well functioning DL585 G7. We had a connection lost due to the server shutting down, and now it will not start up.
On the mother board there is an error code with alternating 00 and 80.
The PSU:s are functioning (fans are active when plugged in) but the green led on the back of the PSU:s does not light up. We also tried to replace the PSU:s from another server, this did not change anything.
The power button lights with amber color and on the SID card only the power symbol is lit up with amber.
In older servers a tip was to try to turn the system maintenence switch # 6 on, power on and wait three minutes, then power off (and remove PSUS), swith #6 back off and try to start up. This did not help. Neither swithing #1, #5, and #6 on, power on for three minutes and then power off and switch them to off, did help in any way.
Any suggestions?
The first priority would be to get the data from the disks (6 x 1,2 Gb SAS, with RAID 5 or 6). We understand the server is old and might be at its end of life.
We might have a very similar server DL580 G7 available. Would the front chassi with the disks fit into the DL580 G7?
