Re: proliant gl 380/raid
So you're on the track now. Nice :)
Just a comment. When you put in 2 drives, in a new system, and you want a RAID 1.
Then you don't need to do any configuration of the RAID manually. It will do it all for you.
Simply when th F8 prompt appear, do nothing.
Boot on the Smart start and install OS.
IF you got a hot spare drive. That drive is powered down, when not in use, all LED's off.
Check ACU
I have seen LED's fail to lit, but have no explanation on why. Beware the LED's sit on the hard drive backplane, not the drive. The light is transportet to the front of the disk's by 3 fibers (Starts at the white block).
You can ckeck if there's a problem with the disk using ACU or the Server system homepage (Insight manager)
ACU will tell, if a drive is Failed (Only)
Insight manager will tell you everything
If you install the server using smart start, everything is installed, and you have been asked for a password.
Open a web browser:
https://Server:2371
Where server is ip addr or dns name
