Proliant Hardware error

We have a Proliant 1600 dual P3600 1 GB. We use it for processor intensive applications in out proteomics lab. It was, until recently, a file server, but it has crashed. The error I get is as follows (on a blue screen):

Hardware Malfunction
Call your Hardware Vendor for support
NMI: Parity check/memory parity error
*** The System Has Halted ***

I changed out the memory innocently thinking it would be that easy. It still gives me that error message or freezes up. An associate of mine said it might be a Power Supply. Before I change out the whole unit, I would greatly appreciate some advice on where to start....

Thanks you very much.

Michael
