Proliant ML 370 G6 Not continuing on Smart Start
Install goes seems to go fine, it asks for windows 2008 disk, lights flash on the dvd drive, then it says 'The disc inserted appears valid - continuing', and never completes. I left this server running for 24 hours, it still says 'The disc inserted appears valid - continuing'. The server isnt locked up, the animations on the top of the smart start screen keep cycling, num lock/caps lock still cycle their respective keys, but it doesnt continue.

Re: Proliant ML 370 G6 Not continuing on Smart Start
I had the same problem with 2008 R2. The CD was defect in my case. I downloaded a fresh copy using the download manager burnt it and it works w/o any problems.

Re: Proliant ML 370 G6 Not continuing on Smart Start
Could you use Smart Start only to create RAID? and then boot server with OS CD/DVD and continue OS installation, (i.e. not from Smart Start CD).
Once the OS is installed you can install entire Proliant Support Pack (Drivers/HP Utilities) from Smart Start CD or downloading the same from HP website.
Cheers!
