Proliant ML110 G2 - embedded RAID Controller Problem
I now need to add an additional disk to provide more storage but have found that BIOS can see the disk but windows cannot.
From BIOS I note that if the onboard SATA controller is enabled "SATA RAID Enabled" it says that BIOS will not connect to SATA ports 2 and 3.
I cannot find any documentation to identify what to do.
Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards

Re: Proliant ML110 G2 - embedded RAID Controller Problem
SATA is enabled in BIOS but did you already configure that new HDD pressing F8 to get access to the controller BIOS and configure that new HDD as RAID 0?

Re: Proliant ML110 G2 - embedded RAID Controller Problem
Basically, I believe the on-board controller can only see 2 SATA drives when enabled - at least that is what the minimalist documentation says.

Re: Proliant ML110 G2 - embedded RAID Controller Problem
yes I had similar issue and controller only supported 2 HDDs but I was able to find the same for for this server and also you added this
"I now need to add an additional disk to provide more storage but have found that BIOS can see the disk but windows cannot."
maybe I need to search I little more and also which documentation are you reading?

Re: Proliant ML110 G2 - embedded RAID Controller Problem
The hard drive type must match the type of controller being used in the system:
* 80GB SATA 7200 rpm 1" Drive (Hot Plug and Non-Hot plug SATA Models)
* 160GB SATA 7200 rpm 1" Drive (Hot Plug SATA Models)
* 250GB SATA 7200 rpm 1" Drive (Hot Plug SATA Models)
Maximum Internal Storage:
* SATA (hot plug): 1TB (4 x 250-GB - internal drive bays and removable media bays)
* SATA (non-hot plug ): 320-GB (4 x 80-GB)
If you got other HDD - it can be the source of the problem.
