Proliant ML110 G3 memory upgrade
I've just bought 4Gb of RAM to upgrade my server but when I power it up I get nothing.
It works with the original 512Mb back in it so is possibly duff RAM or the wrong type.
My question is will any PC2-4200R DDR2 533 ECC memory work as long as I pair it?

Re: Proliant ML110 G3 memory upgrade
Hmm the configurator is not to be trusted it is a work in progress it still has issues
use guide below instead it is quite precise
click the memory tab
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12308_div/12308_div.HTML
Try to memory of same brand preferably hp,as others are hit and miss
Enjoy points appreciated :)

Re: Proliant ML110 G3 memory upgrade
I've used Crucial ECC quite a bit in servers and never had any issues thus far:
