Proliant ML150 G5 PCI-to-PCI Bridge
Hello, I'm having a VERY frustrating issue. I want to run windows 2008 server x64 or Windows 7 x64 on the proliant ML150 G5. I have a GeForce 8500GS installed in the PCI port. The graphics card works perfectly in Windows XP and Ubuntu Jaunty x64 but when I install Windows server 2008 or Windows 7 I get a PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge resource issue in device manager and my Geforce video card isn't recognized by the Nvidia drivers. The video works fine in VGA mode using the card. I tried swapping the PCI video card with an x1 PCI-Express card but I get the same issue. I've installed every driver for Windows 2008 and I still get the issue. I'm starting to think I made a terrible purchase. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Proliant ML150 G5 PCI-to-PCI Bridge
Did you install the chipset drivers as well?
These are the slots available starting from the bottom of the system board.
Have you tried any of the other slots?
Firmware upgraded on the system board as well?
20 J12 PCI 2.3-compliant slot 1 connector
21 PCIE1 PCIe x4 slot 2 connector
22 PCIE2 PCIe x4 slot 3 connector
23 PCIE3 PCIe x4 slot 4 connector
24 PCIE4 PCIe x8 slot 5 connector
25 PCIE5 PCIe x8 slot 6 connector

^^ Says that the GF8500 is designed for PCI-e x16. Also the HP servers usually don't work well with non-supported extra graphical cards. It also says that it is built for Vista. Have you tried it in Vista also?

Re: Proliant ML150 G5 PCI-to-PCI Bridge
Unfortunately, Yes I've installed the chipset drivers. The 8500GS I have is the PCI version of the board. Every PCI-Express X1 card I installed gave me the same issue.
This server is turning out to be a worthless purchase. I put in 4 1TB drives and the system will not let me do RAID5. I can only choose RAID0 or RAID10. It's unfortunate because I have 5 HP production servers running perfectly. It's time to start looking at Lenovo/IBM or Dell and put this server on Ebay.
