Proliant ML30 gen 10 no bootable devices
Hi, I have been using this server for several months and on the rare occasions when we have had long blackouts, when I restart I get this error: "no bootable devices were detected please attach a uefi bootable device".
The problem is solved immediately if I power cycle the server.
So I did some tests and I noticed that this happens every time there is no power. When it turns back on I get this error. Then I shut down and restart the server and everything is ok. What's wrong? This is my first experience with HP servers.
Thank you.
Grazie.

Re: Proliant ML30 gen 10 no bootable devices
Hi Tonino86,
Thank you for the Post.
It may be due to firmware issue.
We would request you to update the Firmware of the Server - esp : BIOS, Controller and iLO.
And then monitor / observe the Server.
Thank you
RamKS
I work for HPE.

Re: Proliant ML30 gen 10 no bootable devices
Hi - exactly the same problem here. I've been away for a few days, turned on the ML30 Gen10, and I get this error message. I have used ilorest to re-flash the system with the "ROM Flash Firmware Package - HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 (U44) Servers" (version 2.72_04-20-2023), but it makes no difference. The versions are now reported as :
- System ROM 2.72 (2023-04-20)
- S100i SR Gen10 2.04-0 (this was previously 2.02.0)
- iLO firmware 1.45
When I run "System Utilities > System health summary" on the iLO, and then select 'HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen 10', it reports that
1785-Slot 0b Drive Array Not Configured. Action: Use a configuration utility to configure the attached drives
When I run 'System configuration > HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen 10', I can find drive information for the 1TB drive, but it says that it is not associated to an array.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Proliant ML30 gen 10 no bootable devices
I "fixed" this by reconfiguring the RAID, which fortunately doesn't seem to have lost any data. I have to say I'm pretty surprised that this happened on hardware whcih is less than 4 years old.
