I have a ProLiant ML350 Gen9 which the fans come on regularly making a lot of noise. There are no failed fans (four fans installed) and the temperature is below the threshold levels.
There are two Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2609 v3 @ 1.90GHz installed
The Firmware versions are as follows:
HP Smart Array P440ar Controller 7.00
System ROM P92 v1.40 (05/06/2015)
Redundant System ROM P92 v1.40 (05/06/2015)
Power Management Controller Firmware 1.0.9
Power Management Controller FW Bootloader 1.0
System Programmable Logic Device Version 0x13
SAS Programmable Logic Device Version 0x3
Server Platform Services (SPS) Firmware 3.0.6.267.1
iLO 2.70 5/07/2019
The server started making the noise in August and I have attempted to track down the cause both on the server and online in your forums without much success thus far.

Re: ProLiant ML350 G9 with excessive fan noise during normal server operation
Hi,
1. I see the ILO4 FW version is latest 2.70 but the BIOS FW is quit old , kindly update the BIOS FW from the link below & monitor the fan noise.
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_e519aeaadd3945b0b0601120a8#tab-history
2. Also let us know if this server has been making excessive fan noise from Day 1 or were there any changes made post which this was obs
Regards,

HPE is blocking the download this BIOS to recycle an old server stating this product is out of service.
That's how you allow to reuse your products??

Re: ProLiant ML350 G9 with excessive fan noise during normal server operation
We occasionally (roughly one once every 6 months over 7 servers) get similar with DL360s and DL380s, fans usually behave again after a reset of the ILO.

Re: ProLiant ML350 G9 with excessive fan noise during normal server operation
I still can't download the last BIOS, which solves the fan speed issue, from HPE web. It states this server is out of maintenance.
The link provided as answer is useless and that makes this hardware useless too.
