Proliant ML350p hotplug disk cages
Hello ,
We just ordered and received a new Proliant ML350p G8 server equiped with a Smart array P420i and a 8 sff hard disk cage
Then we ordered by mistake 3 Lff hard disks (1tb sas)
My question is : rather than ordering 3 new sff disks , is it possible to replace this sff cage for an lff ?
I saw in the price list the following part number :
659485-B21 "HP 5U 6 Large Form Factor (LFF) Hot Plug Drive Cage Kit"
it seems to be the right part number
anyone knows if it is the right part number alone or if i need others parts to replace the original cage (cables/backpanel/ etc) ?
P.S.This thread has been moved from Servers>General to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL)- HP Forums Moderator

Hi,Re: Proliant ML350p hotplug disk cages
Hi,
The part number is correct.
For installation steps you can refer to Guided Troubleshooting for this server from the following link :
Or you can refer to Page 76 of the user guide. You can access the same from the following link :
