Re: Proliant pl1600 and win 2003
Hi Jorge,
Proliant PL1600 does not support windows 2003 due to lack of driver supports. you can use following link for PL1600 OS support matrix.

Re: Proliant pl1600 and win 2003
Jorge,
I believe that the way I have done that in the past was to use the SS 5.5, select a manual install, select OTHER as the OS and when the SS portion is done, you boot off the 2003 CD. You are going to need to put the array controller driver on a floppy disk before you boot to 2003 CD. As soon as it says that it is configuring hardware (the very first screen you see from the CD) start pressing F6. It will then aask you if you want to install 3rd party drivers. This is where you would use your floppy. Once the setup is done, upgrade all drivers using the latest SS. Also, make sure your BIOS is current.
This may take some playing with, but I have done it in the past. Good Luck.
Jim

Re: Proliant pl1600 and win 2003
Jim,
Thank you for your input on my problem,I was going to select other on the OS at first but I when ahead and select win 2000 and I did not need it to use a flopply on the installation which it worked out better for me since the floppy drive on the server is acting up. Also the main issue that I was having was that the CD that I was ussing was not bootable.
Now I'm trying to update the array 221 from 4.16 to 4.50 but the online update does not work and I can find an of line version of 4.5
for Array 221.
Thank you again.
