Proliant Storage Enclosure not responding
I'm getting the following error message when my server boots up
Slot 4 Compaq Smart Array 5300 controller (revA, V1.74) 2 logical drives 1775-slot for drive array
Proliant storage enclosure not responding
SCSI Part 2 : Check storage enclosure power switch and cables
Turn system power off while checking Proliant power and cable connections, then turn system power back on and retry.
Slot 4 Compaq Smart Array 5300 controller (revA, V1.74) 2 logical drives 1775-slot for drive array
Proliant storage enclosure not responding
SCSI Part 2 : Check storage enclosure power switch and cables
Turn system power off while checking Proliant power and cable connections, then turn system power back on and retry.

Re: Proliant Storage Enclosure not responding
Try looking at the responses in this post:

Just trouble shoot:
- Make sure the power cable to the drive-cage is properly connected, if so, try plugging a different power cable into the storage enclosure/drive-cage. If this works, then it was a power supply problem.
- Try plugging the scsi cable from the drives into the embedded scsi port rather than one of the ports on the SmartArray card. If this works, then it might be a problem with the Smart Array 5300 Controller, or it might be a strange problem like I had. Try putting in different drives, or just putting in one drive. In my case, one faulted drive seemed to cause strange repercussions.
