Prolient 380DL gen 11 U.2 not showing up
I got a brand new DL380 Gen11 server in and unfortantly non of my U.2 drivers are being detected by the MR416i-o Gen11 controller.
When i go into the bios i can enter the controllers configuration page but its showing
- backplane 0
- enclosure 2
- drives 0
This is what i have in the server
- P48813-B21 HPE DL380 Gen11 2U 8SFF x1 TM Kit
- P01366-B21 HPE 96W Smart Storage Lithium-ion Battery with 145mm Cable Kit
- P48918-B21 HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen11 Storage Controller Enablement Cable Kit
- P47781-B21 HPE MR416i-o Gen11 x16 Lanes 8GB Cache OCP SPDM Storage Controller
Any ideas why the disks are not showing up?
Im using Intel 4TB SSD DC P4510 2.5 U.2 NVMe PCIe SSDPE2KX040T8

Ive been reading online and i see things like:
Unfortunately, a U.2 SSD and a U.3 disk cage are not directly compatible. While both U.2 and U.3 SSDs use the same connector (SFF-8639)
A U.3 disk cage is designed specifically for U.3 SSDs and may not provide the necessary compatibility for a U.2 SSD
Can anyone confirm this? does this mean i need to order a different drive cage to get this working? like this one?

Hello,
A note for "HPE DL380 Gen11 8NVMe 1P FIO Kit P69548-B21" in the section "Configuration Information > Factory Instructions and Server Settings" on page 39 of the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 server's QuickSpecs mentions once "U.2", which is as follows:
"If 8NVMe Bundle is selected then Qty 1 (min/max) of 8SFF U.3 x4 cage OR 8SFF U.2 x4 cage must be selected."
Save for this, there is no other mention of "U.2".
Please review section "HPE Hard Disk Drives" on page 51 for a list of supported drives on the server.
