PSP/Firmware - Installation order

Hello,

I want to apply Support Pack 8.70 and Firmware DVD 9.30 to some DL380 G6 servers, before upgrading them with SP1 for Server 2008 R2.

Which is the right/recommended installation order? I guess that a new firmware could enable hardware features that needs driver support, but maybe the other way around as well.

install the Support Pack and during the reboot put in the Firmware DVD to apply the firmware updates.

i could see both ways, and it probably doesnt matter either way really.

My prefered way would be always to update firmware first then drivers/psp.

based on a fresh install, it was recommended to me to update firmware fisrt so the install actually works ok, then you would do the drivers/psp and then any windows updates
