PXE/DHCP on bootup failing on NC543i 10GbE port automatically, but succesful manually

I have some SL390 nodes with NC326i ethernet ports and NC543i IB and 10GbE ports

I'd like to use PXE to install the systems via the 10GbE interface and have turned on network boot on this interface. The card comes up and appears to be trying to use dhcp to get an address, but fails and no connection from the interface's MAC address is seen in the logs of the dhcp server. However if I press Ctrl-B to drop to the CLI of the NC543i and type dhcp net1, I do see a request from the interface's MAC address in the dhp server logs and the interface gets an address and can then proceed with installation by typing chain ${filename}

Does anyone know why the interface seems to not be sending out the dhcp packets during its standard initialisation procedure?

Thanks,

Derek

Hi,

There was a similar issue occurring on a Blade server with this network card, for which its recommended to update the firmware of the Nic.

May be you should consider updating the firmware for the NIC.
