Question about hard drives on ML370 G5
I have two kinds of hard drives mixed in the same RAID 5 array:
432320-001 and
418399-001
Both are the same specifications (146GB, 10K) but one is single port and one is dual port. According to HP, they are both compatible, but I'm having some doubt.
I have been facing an issue of hard drives failing too fast. Sometimes two disks at a time. In one year, I have replaced over 10 disks in the same RAID 5 array and lost data twice. The drives backplane, cables, and smart array controller were replaced and that didn't fix the problem.
I'm wondering if the cause of this problem is the different type of disks?
