Questions about CPU upgrade in HP Proliant DL380E Gen8

Hello,
I was looking to upgrade the processors in my HP Proliant DL380E Gen8 servers. One of them has a pair of Intel Xeon E5-2420 0 @ 1.90GHz. The other has a pair of Intel Xeon E5-2430 0 @ 2.20GHz. Looking at the option parts webpage about my servers, the best CPU listed is the Intel Xeon E5-2470v2 (2.4-GHz/10-core/25MB/95-W). Will this CPU work on my servers? and is that the best xeon cpu I can use in them?

Will this CPU work on my servers?

The E5-2470v2 is supported on the DL380e Gen8, but review this advisory carefully before attemping an upgrade:

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c03425410

and is that the best xeon cpu I can use in them?

The "best" is highly subjective, that is, more cores/threads and higher clock speeds do not necessarily mean better performance for your application. That said, from what I can tell, the E5-2470v2 is in the "high performance" category and has the most cores/threads and highest CPU clock speed of the supported CPUs on that system. Just my two cents...
