"Create Array" is not visible on Array configuration utility

Hi,

I was trying to expand my HP ProLiant server by adding additional hard disk. I was having 300 GB x 3 + 600 GB x3 hdd in different Raid 5. Now i wanted to remove the 600 GB x 3 and add 1.2 TB x 5 hdd and make the same Raid as before, so i will have 4.8 TB as storage. I did remove the 600 GB x 3 and added 1.2 TB x 5, but when i run HP Array configuration utility i cant find there create array to create new array. Can somebody help me on this.

Thanks and regards,

Shameer Mohammed

Hi,

"The controller will not allow a new array to be created, either because the controller has no unassigned physical drives attached or because the maximum number of arrays or logical drives has been reached already."

According to the image attached by you, there are no Unassigned drives.

SAS Array B, may be the 600GBx3 Drives which is totaling to 1.1TB

If you replace 600GB to 1.2TB then ideally you should get 2.2TB

Ideally what I would do is, delete Logical Drive 2 completely, then add new drives so that it will become unassigned drives.

Thank You!
