"Flash Programming Locked"
Trying to upgrade bios on a ML530, but I keep getting this message ("Flash Programming Locked"). I looked through the bios but couldn't find anything. I was wondering if this is taken care of through the Compaq System Tools, IM, the bios, or some other means?

Re: "Flash Programming Locked"
If you want to flash the BIOS with a bootable diskette, you must use a cold start.
A simple ctrl-alt-del is not enough.
Turn the server off, then turn it on with the floppy inserted. Then an update should do it.

Re: "Flash Programming Locked"
Also, don't forget that a large majority of HP/Compaq firmware can be flashed online from the OS now. It requires a reboot for the device to start using the firmware, but at least you don't have to boot from a floppy disk and wait forever...
