What do I need to do regarding the "Missing Operating System" message I received when rebooting my DL360 G2? The boot order is (and the machine checked in this order) 1. CD; 2. Floppy (a:); 3. Hard Drive (c:). I have checked the Smart Array 5i controller diagnostics. Shows everything ok; one logical drive, two physical drives.
I'm sure this is a configuration issue, but I can't seem to figure it out. The server has been running fine for nearly two years.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Morris

Re: "Missing Operating System" message on DL360 G2
Hello Morris,
If the BOOT CONTROLLER order is set to 5i controller if that's where you intend to boot from. This behavior may occur if you are using a Compaq Smart Array controller with an older Array device driver, and the boot partition is larger than 5 GB. You may need to run repair or contact MS for assistance.

Solution
Hi Morris
Had this error a few weeks ago : Boot Order and Boot Controller order where Ok : the cause of the problem was that the partition was no longer Active
Solved the problem with a good old DOS floppy : FDISK and then activate partition ( can also use W2000 CD )
Hope it helps
Vic
