RAID-5 WRONG CALCULATION BY SERVER
Hi,
Im a new IT admin in my cimpany, and I have a server that already is configured with 8 SAS drives in RAID-5, but they have different sizes, let me tell you the server and storage details:
HP Proliant DL380 G5
Eight SAS drives:
3 * 72 GB
4 * 146 GB
1 * 300 GB
all drives are configured in a signle RAID-5, the total storage is 478 GB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, is that correct?! ... how can i calculate this complicated collection?!, the server hosts ESX 4.1, is this config correct for it?
awaiting your kind responses
P.S. This thread ahs been moved from general to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL). - Hp Forum moderator

Re: RAID-5 WRONG CALCULATION BY SERVER
Looks good.
RAID 5 for 7 * 72 GB disks are round about the value you get.
The smallest disk in the RAID set the limit.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
