You need to have a cache board for the smartarray controller, without cache you can only create RAID 0 and 1.
But IMHO a RAID5 with 3 disks isn't much better than a RAID1.

You can "create" cash for hp by buying an accelerator cache board for your smartarray controller - only with such cache board you can create a RAID5.
