raid dl 380 server
hi,
I got HP DL 380 proliant servers. there are 6 drives. Apart from /var /home /usr i want to have /data1 and /data2 partitions. but these data should be on differnet drives.
can anyone guide me what RAID ihave to configure and to congfiure from smart start should i use "Erase system" option

Hi,
It sounds like you need to set up three RAID-1 logical drives.
Use one for /, /var, /home, /usr and then one for /data1 and one for /data2
As you would appear to be trying to install Linux of some form, then you don't need to use SmartStart. Just hit F8 when the server's booting to get into the Array Configuration Utility, to configure things as you require.

yes i made 3 RAID1's and when try to install linux with custom partition, it is not booting.
what could be the reason?
