RAID LC2 AND ML530 any compatibility? : Error 59 Smartstart can't continue
Model: Proliant ML530;
BIOS (P19) 4/10/2001 (recently Patched);
2 Processors 933/133Mhz with 256KB;
4 Gig RAM;
Compaq Raid LC2 Controller (ver 1.02) (recently Patched);
6 Wide Ultra2 SCSI hard disks ;
Preparing this system with SmartStart v4.90B
after running Automated Installation and rebooting normally,
recieved an error
"SMARTSTART can't continue because there are no physical
or Logical Disk on the Primary Controller
Error Code 59 The System erase utility must be run to prepare the system
to run smartStart Again
Press Any key to Start the System Erase Utility
====
1) Primary Boot Controller is correct set to "WIDE ULTRA2"
2) Have repeated all these normal steps from SmartStart 3 times.
and recieve all the same error code.
Our company posses an extra ML530 running Novell Netware 5.x
with an DLT35/70 and RAID LC2 controller.
Have read in your web site that the RAID LC2 is ONLY compatible
with Proliant Servers ML330 and ML350
http://www.compaq.com/products/storageworks/array-and-scsi-controllers/LC2-controllerqa.html
How come this server ML530 came with a RAID LC2 installed on it and no working?
Please advice ASAP.
Wilfredo
