RAID Questions
First, is it possible to swap arrays between servers? I have a DL380 G4 where the data array is RAID-5 using 4 36GB drives, and a DL380 G3 that has a data array in RAID-1 using 2 146GB drives. I would like to physically swap the arrays between the machines. (Both servers have an OS RAID-1 array.) Is this possible without major problems?
Second, is it possible to migrate a RAID-1 array to RAID-5 after adding a couple of drives? I have thought about adding two drives and taking one of the mirrored drives to create a RAID-5 array, then copy all the data to from the old (now unmirrored) drive to the new array and then turning the old drive into a spare for the new array. Is there a more direct (and possibly less risky) method?
Thanks!

Re: RAID Questions
about the first question ... it's not so clear for me.

about the second question, on-line raid level migration it's possible.
take a look at this other link:

Re: RAID Questions
I'm just using the embedded RAID controllers, not the P600. For the G3 I think that's a 5i and for the G4 I think it's the 6i.
Thanks, though.

Re: RAID Questions
also (I'm quite sure), it's possible to move a complete array from one server to the other.
take a look at this link:

bye.
