Raid recovery

How do you rebuild your data after replacing a faulty hard disk when using hardware raid array? Also, how do you check what raid is in place without needing to do a reboot of the server. Thanks?

firslty if you are using a harware raid then simply replacing the disk will trigger the rebuild..secondly you can check the type of raid level through the array configuration utility
