RAID
I have two 4GB disks mirrored (RAID1). This RAID array contains the operating system and I guess one or other of the disks is used to the boot the OS. I have a SMART-2SL controller.
My question is, can I decouple the two disks, in effect break the mirror, so that I can have the OS on a single 4GB disk and replace one of the existing disks with an 18GB drive to be used as another drive letter?
This is a small server and I am desperate for more disk space but do not have any more bays available - it only has three. If the answer is yes, then how do I go about this.

Re: RAID
You'll need to reconfigure the controller and drives , if you need to break the Raid 1 drive set and replace one to the drives with a larger drive .
