Rebuilding RAID 6 takes a lot of time

Good morning,
We have a DL360 Gen10 with 5 SSD's of 1.92Tb in RAID 6 configuration, running ESXi version 6.7.0-U3.
Last week we had a failed SSD in Bay 1 and replaced it with a new one.
After that we expected the system to rebuild the RAID 6, but in iLO 5 we see on the Volume a "LogicalDriveStatusReasons" which stands for "Recovering". It is our production server and the performance is very slow, due the large amount of data and the rebuilding process. Who has the same experience and knows how long this process will take? Is this normal and expected, almost more than a week? Any suggestion of comment is more than welcome.

Hello,

You may set the "Rebuild priority" to "High setting" for ensuring that the rebuild is faster. You may refer to section "Modifying controller settings" for more information.

Re: Rebuilding RAID 6 takes a lot of time

Hello TVVJ,
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately, I do not see the possibility in iLO 5 to adjust the settings, such as increasing the rebuild priority, for the Smart Array controller.
I know that this is possible via the System Utilities, during the Boot procedure, but this is a production server and I cannot simply bring it down.
Another possibility is of course the Smart Array Administrator, but this is a Windows app/GUI and unfortunately I cannot install it on a VM server. Do you or anyone else know if there is a possibility to manage the Smart Array Controller on an ESXi server? We have a model P408i-a SR Gen10 controller.
