Hi,
I need to recover the Windows 2003 Server operating system that is damaged due to virus.
The server is a HP Proliant ML350. The cd's StartSmart reinstallation of the system only allows losing the information?
I could not start the server by bootting from the Windows CD.
How can I try recover the system without losing information?
Many thanks,
Ana Cal

Solution
Hello Ana,
Follow the below steps to resolve your issue.
1) Download the Storage controller for the ML350 server depending on the generation of your server.
2) Extract the contents to a floppy by executing the .exe file.
3) Connect a usb floppy drive to the server and boot the server from your Windows 2003 CD.
4) When you will be prompted to press F6, if you want to provide third party drivers(this is usually right after the installation blue screen appears), press the F6 key.
5) After the basic drivers are copied loaded you will be prompted to provide the additional drivers for which you wish to provide, insert the floppy you had created earlier in usb floppy drive and choose the "S" option, the drivers from the floppy will be loaded and you will get a list of storage controls, choose the correct driver and press enter.
6) After the drivers are copied you will see the screen again this time press enter to continue.
After all the required files are loaded you will see the partitions no your server and you will be able to repair the OS using the standard repair options available in Windows 2003. Hope this helps
