replace 2sl with 532 controller

When I try to replace a Smart 2sl controller with a 532, I change the controller boot order and the 532 is detected however I get a inaccessible boot device blue screen. Can someone tell me what I missing?

Thanks!!

Re: replace 2sl with 532 controller

The newer controller will require a newer driver. Install the driver for the 532 when you're booted to the os with the 2sl. After driver is installed, then replace the card.

Re: replace 2sl with 532 controller

I have the same problem with an antique PL6000. Had to replace failed Smartcontroller 2P with a spare Smartcontroller 4200. How do I install the 4200 driver if I consistently get "inaccessible boot device" error? Am I SOL and have to re-install NT4.0? Thanks.

Thanks Chris - that did the trick. I guess if I actually read the material that came with it I would have found that out....
