Replace Dead Server
Dear all,
I have one DL380 server with a biult-in raid controller and 3 hard disks configured as a mirror and hotspare, unlukily, the mother board of this server go deffected and now it does not show anything on the display when powered on.
Now, i have another stand-by server, how can i move the old hard disks into the new server and recover the raid configuration and got it to work without loosing the data.
operating system is win2003

Re: Replace Dead Server
If you have another identical DL380 server - just move SCSI drives from broken server to new server - RAID configuration stored on SCSI drives, so then you put drives to new server you will have working configuration.
Identical DL380 mean same server generation (for example DL380 G1) and same SmartArray controller.

Re: Replace Dead Server
Thank you very much, it solved my problem, i think this is a new feature because it used not to work in the old servers.
